Edward Weston used a Graflex camera, this camera allowed him to see his subject matter whilst he was taking his photos. Weston developed his own photographic language, his photographs had to please him, he was precise about his composition and framing. whilst photographing 'pepper 30' weston encountered a problem with his depth of field, it was too shallow, so he created his own aperture, f240- pinhole. Weston used natural light on his photos and his exposure took around 4-6 hours. Long exposure effected his photographs because the daylight moved around resulting in moving shadows.
